Orange County Fire Rescue has secured an ammonia leak at the US Cold Storage Facility plant on Thursday morning, according to officials.

Just after 9 a.m., Orange County Fire Rescue Communications received a 911 call reporting a strong smell of ammonia in the area of N. Orange Blossom Trail and Shader Road, according to a release.

A maintenance worker for the facility reported he had detected the smell and shut down the valves supplying ammonia to the building's refrigeration system. The leak was secured on the roof shortly after, officials said.

One patient was treated on scene for a sore throat, that patient declined transport to the hospital, officials said. No other evacuations were made aside from the cold storage building.
