According to Ocala police reports, the employee was working in the cell phone section of the Best Buy located on SW 27th Ave., when she noticed four black women enter the store.

The worker told police she saw one of the women cut the tether attached to at least two cellphones and put the devices in her pockets.

When they left the store, the worker alerted the loss prevention officers, who ran toward the front of the store with the employee following.

In the parking lot, the employee got behind a silver, newer model car and took pictures of the license plate when the car backed up, hitting her.

She walked out of the way, the report says, when the car was shifted into drive and hit her again, sending her onto the hood of the car.

The car drove off, followed in another car by one of the loss prevention officers.

Ocala police say the officer approached the car at a stop light and ordered the women inside to return the merchandise.

The driver's side window rolled down, and a woman threw two cellphones and a DVD into the street and drove off.

The employee who was hit by the car suffered only minor injuries, according to police reports.

The car, bearing the Florida license plate number AEUC81, was tracked to Enterprise Rent-A-Car, which reported the car was rented out of Ybor City, near Tampa.
