It's been to the moon and back -- and fetched an astronomical price as a result.

The camera used by members of the 1971 Apollo 15 moon mission sold for nearly $760,000 at an auction in Vienna over the weekend, The Associated Press reported.

The Hasselblad 500 is the only camera ever brought back from the moon, according to auctioneers.

Others were left behind to make room for mineral samples.

The new owner? Japanese businessman Terukazu Fujisawa, who runs an electronics chain.
