Time management can be the difference between success or failure.
Just ask Emily Edwards and John McGivern--the two are part of Lake Mary Healthy Living Magazine's "Take the Challenge."
The challenge is a one-year campaign to completely change their lifestyle.
A lifestyle once filled with quick runs through the drive thru and eating whatever, whenever they wanted.
On Thursday, their lives are a series of appointments. They are being asked to eat at regular intervals and attend classes at the gym.
Both say keeping up the pace isn't always easy.
"I've been in the same routine for so many years," Emily says. "Having to almost cold turkey stop everything I was doing and rearrange my life, my husband's life, it's just a lot to take in."
"My struggles in general have been just staying on time with my eating habits," says John. "I went from eating once or twice a day to eating five or six times a day. You know smaller meals, healthier meals. Some days because of my work or family matters or anything I fall off that pattern."
At first they fought the cravings of their favorite meals. For John it was chicken wings, Emily loved Mexican food. Now both say the appeal has worn off.
"I don't really miss anything," says John. "Because I feel so much better than I used to feel."
Emily said she agrees.
"It can be tough, but making the right decision, I always feel better once I'm done and just emotionally I'm proud of myself," she said.
