Elsamaloty was thrown from the Harley-Davidson motorcycle and died at the scene of the crash, Sgt. Kim Montes said.

The wreck took place about 5:15 p.m. on Courtenay Parkway, near Venetian Way.

The pickup truck driver wasn’t hurt. Charges are pending.

The man in the truck was heading south on Courtenay Parkway, and Elsamaloty was traveling north on the same road, when the driver tried to make a left turn onto Venetian Way, troopers said.

That’s when he pulled into Elsamaloty’s path, causing the crash, according to the FHP.

The collision remains under investigation.
