TV falls, critically injures child in Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach police are investigating after a TV fell on top of a 5-year-old child.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -

A television fell on top of a 5-year-old Sunday morning in Daytona Beach, critically injuring the child, officials said.

Daytona Beach firefighters were called to a home on Jean Street around 10 a.m. after 911 was called.

Firefighters said relatives of the 5-year-old said they were in another room when they heard a loud crash.  Relatives said they then found a TV on top of the child.

Fire Rescue personnel said when they got to the home, they found the child suffering from severe head trauma.

The child was airlifted to Halifax Medical Center in critical condition, officials said.

Daytona Beach continue to investigate.
