Downtown Orlando shooting suspect ruled competent to stand trial
A judge ruled on Monday that the man accused of going on a shooting rampage inside downtown Orlando's gateway building is competent to stand trial.
Police said Jason Rodriguez stormed the building in 2009 and shot six people inside the architectural firm that fired him two years earlier, killing one person.
Rodriguez was previously found incompetent for trial but doctors later testified that he had made a turnaround.
Rodriguez's trial is scheduled to start next week. He is charged with one count of first-degree murder. He also faces attempted first degree murder charges.
