NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -

A fireworks mishap at the New Smyrna Beach Independence Day celebration sparked a fire at a tiki hut near a public boat ramp and halted the show early.

No one was injured in the incident, which occurred Thursday night near Riverside Park.

Police told Local 6 that a firework likely struck the roof of the tiki hut on the North Causeway, where the New Smyrna Harbor Marina is under construction.

The all-day celebration included a family fishing tournament, a hot dog cookout, food trucks, music entertainment and fireworks.

The fireworks display stopped shortly after it began because of the mishap.
