Osceola County deputies are searching for a woman they say pretended to be a Walmart employee and tried to rob the store.

Osceola County deputies are searching for a woman they say was dressed as a Walmart employee and tried to rob the Walmart in Poinciana.

Deputies said the woman went to the Walmart on Cypress Parkway on the evening of June 6 wearing a Walmart uniform and talked to an employee working behind the customer service counter before pulling a gun on the employee.

When the worker screamed, the woman ran away, according to deputies.

"It just means that anybody could just walk in and just put on any kind of navy blue with khaki pants, and just go ahead and go in and pretend to be an employee. So it's scary," said Angelica Davila, who regularly shops at the store.

Deputies said the woman was wearing a blue shirt, khaki pants and a Walmart name tag that said "Rena" on it.

Investigators have been working with Walmart and have checked area stores for an employee named Rena, but have not yet been able to identify or find the woman.

The woman left the store in a four-door black car.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at 407-348-2222 or Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
