ORLANDO, Fla. -

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirmed to Local 6 on Thursday that it is investigating Juan Lynum, who's running for a seat on the Orlando City Council.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the FDLE is looking into accusations of fraud and whether Lynum lives outside District 5, the area he's trying to represent.

Lynum, meanwhile, has accused opponent Regina Hill of absentee-ballot fraud and a campaign-finance violation, the newspaper reported.

Lynum garnered the most votes Tuesday but didn't win the election outright.  A runoff election between Lynum and Hill will be held May 6.

The Sentinel reports that the city clerk turned over 90 pages of documents to the FDLE during Tuesday's election.

Lynum's mother, Daisy Lynum, previously held the seat.
