Fla. health officials report 3 cases of Vibrio vulnificus in Central Fla.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -

The Florida Departments of Health in Flagler and Volusia counties are advising people to be careful in warm seawater to avoid coming in contact with Vibrio vulnificus.

To date in 2013, health officials said 26 cases of Vibrio vulnificus have been reported in the state of Florida with nine deaths.

There is one case in Flagler and two cases in Volusia counties, authorities said.
