Selling lobster tails on Craigslist turned out not to be such a good idea for a Florida Keys woman, who did not have a license to sell seafood, marine officers said.

An undercover Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer responded to the advertisement saying he needed the ready to cook whole body Florida spiny lobster tails for a dinner party.

The officer agreed to meet Kasey Platt, a dental hygienist, in a Kmart parking lot in Marathon Monday. She thought she was going to be selling $250 of frozen tails at $10 a piece. But the officers were waiting for her with handcuffs.

Platt, 20, was arrested and charged with the unlicensed sale of lobster out of season. She also did not have saltwater products and retail dealer licenses, and did not have the bills and invoices pertaining to the transport of saltwater products.

Florida has two lobster seasons. Investigators believe Platt's boyfriend caught the lobsters during the two day mini season on July 24 and July 25. The eight month season begins August 6 and ends March 31.

In the Florida Keys, regulations allow six lobsters per person a day.
