BELLEVIEW, Fla. -

A Central Florida man was arrested on suspicion of siccing his pit bull on another dog that was chained up in a yard.

Wayne Gibson, 35, of Belleview, was arrested Friday on animal cruelty charges.

The owner of the second dog told investigators he received a call about the attack and when he arrived home, he saw the dogs still fighting, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The owner of the second dog said his animal suffered “a large injury to the right upper leg that prevented the dog from being able to walk adequately,” according to an arrest affidavit.

Deputies said Gibson’s dog sustained cuts to its face and an injury to the right ear that was bleeding.

Gibson was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail.

It's not known why he ordered his dog to attack the other dog.
