A Central Florida prosecutor and the U.S. Justice Department are releasing reports that should shed some light on how and why a Chechen man was fatally shot last year while being questioned by the FBI about a Boston Marathon bombing suspect.
State Attorney Jeff Ashton in Orlando is making public his office's investigation into Ibragim Todashev's death Tuesday, around the same time the Justice Department is releasing its review of the case.
Law enforcement agents with knowledge of the investigation told The Associated Press last week an FBI agent was cleared of any wrongdoing in Ashton's probe, and the Justice Department had reached the same conclusion.
Officials initially said Todashev had lunged at an agent with a knife while being questioned. Later, they said it was no longer clear what happened.
