PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -

A spring breaker from Alabama is recovering from a gunshot wound suffered while she was unpacking a car at a Panama City Beach hotel.

Police say 19-year-old Katlin Brianna Moore of Quinton, Ala., and several friends were taking luggage from their vehicle on the 12th floor of a parking garage on Monday night.

According to an incident report, Moore tossed a red bag belonging to 21-year-old Ancelmo Avilez Diaz onto the ground. When the bag hit the concrete, a two-shot 9 mm Cobra pistol that was inside fired.

The News Herald of Panama City reports the bullet went through Moore's left leg and grazed her right leg. Her friends tended to her until medics arrived.

Panama City Beach police chief says the shooting has been ruled an accident.
