The Osceola County principal who was arrested on drug charges has been sentenced to a year in prison on Monday after pleading no contest, but being adjudicated guilty on all charges.

David Groover, who is the principal of Partin Settlement Elementary School in Kissimmee, was arrested in June 2012 for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, delivery of methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Groover was sentenced to 12.45 months on Monday-- the minimum sentence required by law. He had entered no contest pleas on all drug charges but was adjudicated guilty on all charges.

The 2012 arrest marked the second arrest for Groover. Groover was arrested in 2009, accused of DUI, but kept his job as principal. He resigned in June 2012 after his second arrest.
