Foreign exchange student killed near University of Central Florida

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said a 22-year-old French foreign exchange student was killed trying to cross University Boulevard early Sunday morning.

Troopers said the accident happened around 2:12 a.m. Sunday at University Boulevard and Technological Avenue.

Troopers said Geoffrey Pimpernelle, an exchange student from France, walked into the path of a car driven by 22-year-old Catherine Eads of Naples.

Troopers said Pimpernelle was improperly crossing the road when he was struck.

The crash remains under investigation.
