A three-day schools summit put together by Gov. Rick Scott is ending, although it's not yet clear what it means for students and teachers across the state.

Scott called for the summit because he said the state's A-to-F grading system had reached a critical point.

The Scott administration says it will use suggestions made at the summit to draw up possible legislation for 2014.

Scott may also pursue additional school-related initiatives.

The Republican governor is scheduled to meet Thursday with former Gov. Jeb Bush to discuss education issues. Bush helped create the current system.

Scott did not attend the summit, a move that drew fire from Florida Democrats who said Scott's absence showed he was detached. But one GOP legislator at the summit said Scott's presence would have "overpoliticized" the summit.
