Guilty plea made in butt injections case
A man accused of posing as a doctor and giving toxic buttocks injections to patients will spend 366 days in prison, WPLG-TV reports.
Oneal Ron Morris on Thursday pleaded guilty to practicing health care without a license. A judge rejected a previous plea agreement for 180 days, saying that sentence was too light.
"It impacted my life a lot and God has really prevailed for me," said Morris, 32.
Morris was arrested in November 2011. Prosecutors say the botched operations left two women ill and disfigured.
Police say Morris was born a man and identifies as a woman. He must surrender on January 7.
Morris' alleged accomplice, Corey Eubanks, pleaded guilty in July. He was sentenced to one year of probation.
Morris is charged with manslaughter in another case in Broward County. Officials say one victim died after an operation.
