KISSIMMEE, Fla. -

A Central Florida senator is sponsoring a bill to make daylight saving time year-round.

Sen. Darren Soto of Kissimmee says he and State Rep. Mark Danish are sponsoring the Sunshine Protection Act for the second year in a row.

The move would mean an extra hour of daylight during the winter months and Floridians would no longer roll their clocks back in the fall.

If approved, Florida would be the first state to have daylight saving time year-round.
