Lakeland police say they are questioning an additional student who may have had a sexual relationship with a teacher already facing nearly two dozen unlawful sex with a minor charges.

A Lakeland teacher accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student faces additional charges on Wednesday after a second student came forward.

Jennifer Fichter, 29, was arrested last week on charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor in both Polk and Hillsborough counties.

According to Polk County deputies, a second student at the Central Florida Aerospace Academy said that he had sex with Fichter, who was then 26 years old, about 20 times from 2011 to 2012.

She now faces an additional 20 charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, according to the report.

The new charges come one day after the Polk County School Board unanimously voted to fire Fichter after an investigation into her relationship with a student was prompted by the student's mother finding text messages.

Fichter told the boy's mother she had sex with the woman's son 20 to 30 times and got pregnant and had an abortion, according to police. She also professed her love for him and said she does not regret her actions, police said.

Fichter also faced additional charges in Hillsborough County that stemmed from incidents where she met with the student in a parking lot across the county line.

Orange County Public Schools said Fichter resigned in 2008 following an investigation into an inappropriate relationship she had with an eighth-grade student while teaching at Robinswood Middle School in Orlando.
