The 'Seven Dwarfs Mine Train' is coming to life as part of Disney's Fantasyland expansion.

ORLANDO, Fla. -

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train came to life on Thursday night as part of Disney's New Fantasyland expansion.

The family-style coaster is the last piece of the expansion, which is set to open later in the spring, at the Magic Kingdom. Construction on Fantasyland started in 2010.

Local 6 got a sneak peek at the ride on Thursday, and Disney officials announced Friday morning that the roller coaster will officially open May 28.

Disney said the ride features first-of-its-kind ride vehicles mounted in cradle-like pivots that allow the vehicles to swing back and forth during the twists and turns of the ride.

The five-car train has a cart that moves alone through the mine, hills and Snow White's cottage.

Riders will be kept busy during the wait with interactive games, like playing with jewels like the miners.
