Welcome to Local 6 Theme World
October 21 2013
Just weeks after the princesses moved out of Main Street's Town Square Theater for their new Royal Hall in Fantasyland -- another big change has come to the Magic Kingdom's meet and greets.
After two years of random tests, Disney has made it official. Mickey Mouse now speaks to your children.
He is now greeting guests daily at his backstage dressing room at the theater right at the entrance to Main Street, USA.
This is the next stage in Disney's So-called Living Character Initiative that has brought such favorites as "Turtle Talk With Crush" and Lumiere in "Enchanted Tales With Belle."
As the controversial Magic Bands become the norm at the Magic Kingdom -- it is quite possible that Mickey will even be able to greet your child by name. (while a popular idea with many, I know many people who are kind of creeped out at the idea that characters and even the cast members at the front gate can know your name)
Either way -- look for this already impressive encounter to grow and change.
Below you can see a video Disney posted showing Mickey in action.
We have a lot more from Disney this week, including some new help for parking headaches at Downtown Disney,
Keep your emails, questions, tips and comments coming! I always appreciate the feedback.
