Star Wars Events & Legoland Needs Kids

Up First --  a quick update to yesterday's Theme World -- Universal has announced June 20th opening for the opening of Transformers: The Ride-3D  And they did it in a big way

But locals will likely get a chance to ride a few weeks sooner. Here's a link to yesterday's blog entry -- and count on me to keep you up to date on the soft openings.

Now let's head west on I-4 -- Then down US-27 to Legoland Florida. While the park is gearing up for its World of Chima addition, it is looking now for a few good kids to join what the Model Citizens call Buddy's Brick Bunch -- a new youth panel that will both act as young advisors to the park -- and sometimes act as young reporters.
The park is holding a competition among children 8-12 years-old who "have a passion for Lego."
Here's a link to more information on Buddy's Brick Bunch -- and here is the link to the application. Kids must have parental approval - -and must upload a photo of themselves.

Saturday is a BIG day for Star Wars Fans. And Legoland and Disney are competing for their attention. Why Saturday? It's May the 4th. As is May the 4th Be With You.

Legoland has a Star Wars Miniland.

To celebrate -- Legoland will have a Yoda model building event all weekend, a Yoda Scavenger Hunt & A LEGO Star Wars movie will show in the 4D Theater.

Look for an even bigger event at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The home of Star Wars Weekends (returning May 17th) is kicking things off early with what Disney calls "a party for the greatest saga ever told!"

Disney promises you'll meet Star Wars faves like Darth Vader & Boba Fett. Parents will get to join in the popular Jedi Trading Academy. Of course, there will be merchandise. And look for a Star Wars Dance Party before a rare treat: a fireworks show at Hollywood Studios. They are calling it "Symphony in the Stars."
Here's a link to more information.

More tomorrow -- on a different kind of celebration at Epcot.

Keep your emails, questions, and comments coming! I always appreciate hearing from you -- and I promise to write each of you back as soon as I can.

Here's a link to my most recent Theme World Blog entries.

See you in the parks!
