Theme World: Universal's Potter Party

Ever since its opening in 2010, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has drawn tens of millions of muggles to Islands of Adventure.
Now as Universal gets ready to open a new second Potter land at its Studios park, the resort is throwing a Potter Party to lure back many more would-be Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, Slytherins and yes, even Hufflepuffs.

According to Universal's press release, it will take place January 24-26, 2014 and features "From interactive experiences to a private evening reception and more, this exciting event will be three days of unforgettable fun for all ages, set against the backdrop of two amazing theme parks.
Q&A sessions with the cast members and filmmakers
A wand masterclass hosted by choreographer Paul Harris, duelling instructor for the feature films
Opportunities to explore Hogwarts castle, and shop and dine in Hogsmeade at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
An exciting Harry Potter Film Tribute with select cast members and filmmakers"

Vacation packages start at $395, but for us locals there are general admission tickets to most of the celebration event.
Here's a link to more information.
The event comes just a few months ahead of the opening of Harry Potter's Diagon Alley / London.
As you can see from Sky 6, Construction is moving fast.

That's an overview of the entire area-- from the back side. But it gives you some idea of the scale of the new land. Which, as we've mentioned will feature 2 rides, including a thrilling trip through Gringott's Bank. That's the large building on the left.

The building above shows the train station that will house a "Hogwarts Express" ride linking the two lands.
We will have more from Universal soon.
