MAITLAND, Fla. -

Deputies have arrested three men after they stole Christmas presents from a home in Maitland and crashed into a brick wall trying to get away from authorities.

Investigators said a deputy saw the men leaving a home in the area of Oranole Road and Druid Drive with the stolen items and when they tried to conduct a traffic stop, the car took off, sparking a brief chase before the car crashed into the wall.

The driver was taken to the hospital and will be charged. The two other men were arrested on burglary charges.

Seminole County deputies say Lake Orienta Elementary and St. Mary Magdalen were locked down.
