A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of carjacking another man near Casselberry and leading Seminole County deputies on a chase that ended in a crash in a Winter Park neighborhood.
Deputies say Jeremy Stevens, a convicted felon, ordered a man out of his car at gunpoint near Oxford Road and St. John's Circle near Casselberry.
Investigators say Stevens and the victim know each other, and that there may be drug activity involved. Deputies said the car involved may have been a debt the victim owed the suspect.
Investigators say Stevens stole the car and sped away on State Road 436 when deputies began the chase.
Deputies deployed Stop Sticks and followed the car on the ground and in the air. According to deputies, Stevens drove more than 5 miles with flat tires before spinning out in a neighborhood near Winter Park.
Investigators say Stevens jumped out of the car and ran into a neighbor's yard, where he was taken down by a K-9.
Stevens was treated for a dog bite at South Seminole Hospital before being taken to the Seminole County Jail. He faces several charges in the carjacking, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, fleeing, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and drug charges.
