MELBOURNE, Fla. -

A man with a gunshot wound to the head was found dead Tuesday after a pickup truck crashed into a Melbourne restaurant, authorities say.

Police on Wednesday identified the man as 49-year-old Jeffrey Jay King, of Melbourne.

According to police, King's white pickup truck crashed around 7:15 p.m. through the side of That Little Restaurant at 1749 North Wickham Road.

Melbourne police taped off a wide part of the parking lot around the crash, and a firearm was found at the scene.

Police said it appears that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted, but an investigation is ongoing.

No one inside the restaurant was hurt.
