Man found shot in Orlando

A 42-year-old man was shot in the head and stomach, Orlando police say.

ORLANDO, Fla. -

A 42-year-old man was found shot late Monday in Orlando, according to police.

Orlando police said Tommy McDuffy was critically injured in the shooting, which occurred around 9:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Bent Willow Circle near Silver Star Road.

According to Orlando police, officers went to the area after several shots were fired and discovered that McDuffy had been shot in the head and stomach.

McDuffy was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and underwent surgery. 

Witnesses told police that four to five shots rang out and two vehicles sped away from the complex.

One of the vehicles was described as a blue or gray Dodge Charger and the other was a black Chevrolet Malibu.  A description of the assailants was not known.
