A man is escorted from a Disney World theme park after a loaded gun is found on a ride.

ORLANDO, Fla. -

A man was escorted from a Disney World theme park over the weekend after a loaded gun was found on a ride.

Local 6 learned the incident occurred Sunday inside Disney's Animal Kingdom.

According to an Orange County sheriff's report, a boy and his grandmother found the gun, a .380-caliber pistol loaded with five hollowpoint bullets, on the Dinosaur ride.

"My grandma found it on her seat," the boy told a ride attendant, according to the sheriff's report.

Disney security took possession of the gun, and the owner, who said he didn't know guns were not permitted in the park, was later located.  He told investigators that the gun likely slipped out of his back pocket while he was on the ride, which he described as "bumpy."

The man, who has a Florida concealed weapons permit, was escorted to his car and told not to return to the park.  He was not arrested.

It's against park policy to take a gun into Disney World. The man said he didn't see any signs indicating no guns were allowed on the property and Local 6, too, found no signs on the property.

The gun was turned over to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Parkgoers say the loaded gun has them nervous.

"Especially with all the tragedies that have been going on," said Christine Kendzierski, who was visiting Animal Kingdom with her grandson on Wednesday.

"You never know who could pick that up, there's kids all over the place," said Marissa Macedonia, who was visiting the park with her child
