Man hit, killed while standing on Interstate 4

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating an early morning crash that left a man from Lakeland dead in the middle of Interstate 4.

Troopers said the accident happened on Interstate 4 at State Road 536 around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

Troopers said for unknown reasons, 45-year-old Edward Richardson, Lakeland, was standing in the center lane of Interstate 4 when he was hit.

Troopers said 23-year-old Daniel Parrish, Oviedo, was the driver of the car that hit Richardson.

Troopers said Parrish hit Richardson throwing him into the shoulder of the interstate, killing him.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
