ORLANDO, Fla. -

Orange County Sheriff's Office said on Wednesday it has charged the man deputies identified as the gunman in the fatal shooting near Winnie Palmer Hospital in a string of commercial robberies.

Britxon Dyer, 19, was named the gunman in the shooting of Alex Mazzan, 20, which occurred near Sturtevant Street and Lucerne Terrace in May. Deputies haven't charged Dyer in the shooting, but he has been in the Orange County jail on robbery charges since June 6.

Deputies said they busted three groups of suspects-- Tavares Annon, who works alone and two groups of three robbers-- Pheathine Quinn and Darin Givens in one group and Brixton Dyer and Demarques Brown in the other group.

The seven suspects were responsible for a total of 40 commercial robberies. Five out of the seven believed to be involved in the robberies were arrested and deputies are still looking for Joseph Price, who is believed to be out-of-state, and Damien Altidor, who deputies identified in a hotel robbery on Monday.

Dyer was allegedly involved with one of the groups of three, which detectives are calling the "boonie hat robbers.” Dyer was arrested and charged with at least five robberies at CVS, Walgreens, Embassy Suites, Quality Inn and the Metropolitan Inn.

Arrests were also made in a string of CVS robberies involving the other group of three robbers.

"We want to reassure our community is safe after arrests of these individuals," Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said.
