Man planned to kill 2 others, himself, Flagler County cops say
A 24-year-old Palm Coast man was arrested Sunday on felony charges of fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and aggravated stalking, with additional charges pending further investigation.
WJXT reports deputies in Flagler County said they learned Sunday afternoon that Andrew Dandurand had armed himself with a possible stolen gun and was planning to kill his ex-girlfriend, her current boyfriend and himself.
Deputies responded to Dandurand's ex-girlfriend's home in St. Johns County, where she was found unharmed and was aware of the threats made against her.
Investigators said they also learned that Dandurand possibly had an assault rifle. Deputies found him about a mile from his ex-girlfriend's home, where he tried to flee from a traffic stop.
Dandurand drove recklessly over an embankment, ran a red light and drove southbound in the northbound lane on U.S. 1, deputies said.
Deputies performed a PIT maneuver on Dandurand's vehicle, causing him to drive into a ditch, where he was secured without further incident.
He was found in possession of a fully loaded SKS assault rifle that was allegedly stolen in a Flagler County burglary, deputies said.
Dandurand was booked into the St. Johns County jail, where he remains without bail. Deputies said the investigation is ongoing.
