Man shot rifle in yard, threatened neighbor, Marion deputies say

CITRA, Fla. -

A 72-year-old Citra man was arrested after Marion County deputies say he was shooting a rifle in his yard.

Anthony Cibelli was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the Thursday afternoon incident.

Deputies said a neighbor reported that Cibelli began yelling at him and pointing the firearm at the him, threatening to kill him.

According to the report, when investigators arrived, Cibelli was "unsteady on his feet and had watery eyes" and told deputies he had consumed "some scotch and other things."

Deputies said they found the firearm by the front door and ammunition casings in the backyard.

Cibelli was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail on $7,000 bond.
