OCALA, Fla. -

Ocala police are searching for a man on Thursday they say walked into the back door of a home and attempted to burglarize it while the homeowners were sleeping.

Police said the man walked in through an open back door of the home on NE 6th Street and pulled up the blanket of girl sleeping on the couch and waved at her.

The man then went into the homeowners' bedroom and tried to open their locker, according to the report. The woman, who was inside the room sleeping, yelled "Hey!" and then man calmly walked away from the window.

It's not believed that the man took anything from the residence.

The family told police they keep the backdoor open so their dogs can come in and out of the house. It's believed the man walked in through the open back door.

The man is described as a white male, 6 feet tall with a skinny build and brown hair in a buzz cut, according to police. The man was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and leather boots.
