MELBOURNE, Fla. -

A masked burglar fell through the roof of a Melbourne pharmacy and was promptly arrested by officers who were alerted by the store's alarm, according to police.

David McBride, 28, of Melbourne, was arrested early Monday at the CVS at 3050 N. Wickham Road.

According to Melbourne police, officers patrolling the area heard the alarm and began an investigation.  From outside the store, officers noticed an open access hatch in the ceiling of the drive-through.  They also spotted ceiling tiles that had been moved, showing that entry had been made to the pharmacy, police said.

While waiting for a K-9 officer, McBride fell through the drive-through hatch and landed at the feet of the officers waiting below, police said.

McBride was arrested without incident while wearing gloves and a ski mask, said police, who added that he was carrying a bag of burglary tools and prescription pills.
