New Smyrna Beach police are searching for the man they say sexually battered a woman in a backyard.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -

New Smyrna Beach police are searching on Tuesday for the man they say sexually battered a woman in a backyard.

Police said on Sunday morning a man forced her into the backyard of a residence in the 400 block of South Peninsula Avenue and sexually battered her.

No other details were immediately available.

Residents in the area tell Local 6 they are shocked because it's typically a quiet area and say they are now being more cautious.
