Manuel Rodriguez

OCALA, Fla. -

An 80-year-old man, who was dressed as a woman, was arrested after getting caught stealing at an Ocala Walmart store, according to deputies.

Manuel J. Rodriguez, 80, was arrested and charged with committing petit theft at the Walmart on SW Highway 200 on Wednesday.

Rodriguez took tags off $87.60 worth of items and concealed the items in a purse, which too was from the store, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office,

One of the Walmart security workers stopped Rodriguez because he seemed to be "suspicious while in the apparel department." Security held him until a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrived.

Rodriguez had more than $800 in his wallet when he was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail.
