The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident involving a security officer that was on a motorcycle Saturday afternoon.

EATONVILLE, Fla. -

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating an accident involving a car and security officer that was escorting a funeral Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened on Kennedy Boulevard near Washington Street in Eatonville around 2:45 p.m.

Troopers said the motorcyclist collided with another vehicle, then went into a ditch.

"He was going pretty fast because I dropped my soda right there on the sidewalk when I dropped it to come see, and I ran directly to the guy that was laying in the ditch," said John Washington, who witnessed the incident. "It sounded like a bomb, that's what it sounded like."

The motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet, but was unconscious when Orange County Fire rescue arrived.

"It's something that's routine that we do day by day -- a two lane like this -- it's the only way we can get to the front and do our job," said Dylan Vote, the victim's brother.

The driver was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with traumatic injuries, firefighters said.
