Officer shooting kills 1, another arrested

Orlando police said they were forced to shoot a man after patrol cars were repeatedly rammed in Friday night incident.

ORLANDO, Fla. -

The Orlando Police officers said one man is in custody and another was shot and killed after a vehicle stop Friday night.

According to a sergeant with OPD, police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle at Kirkman Road and Raleigh Street with three men inside the car.

For some reason, authorities said the driver, identified as 21-year-old Marquis Spencer, rammed his car into the officer's car, drove a block, then jumped out and ran off.

During this time, police said gunfire ensued. It is not clear who shot at who, or how many officers were involved in the traffic stop.

Police said Spencer was found shot, taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and later declared dead.

Police said another man, 22-year-old Ronmono Carson, was arrested.

Police a third person was found to be in the car, but no charges are expected against that passenger.

Dozens of police cars arrived at the wooded area at Kirkman Road and Raleigh Street near Valencia College where police believed the man was in the wooded area.
