A school sign causes a flap in Orlando.

ORLANDO, Fla. -

A sign outside an Orlando middle school caused a flap because of an error.

A sign at South Creek Middle School on East Wetherbee Road said, "Ask you child about winter benchmarks."

A post on the Local 6 Facebook page said the school was recently contacted about the mistake, but the sign had not been corrected.

School officials, however, said the sign was fixed on Thursday.  Officials said they didn't know how the mistake occurred.

It's not known how long the message was on the sign.
