A driver and passenger eluded authorities early Friday after leading police on a high-speed chase in Central Florida that reached speeds of 110 mph.
Titusville police attempted to make a traffic stop on a red Toyota Camry because, according to officials, the driver was wanted on a warrant for a carjacking that took place Dec. 11 in Brevard County.
The driver sped off, however, leading police into Orange County, back to Brevard and eventually returning to the Orlando area. Officials said the driver was going up to 110 mph and driving the wrong way on the Beachline.
The Camry later got onto State Road 417, and the driver and passenger ditched the car near Redditt Road and Rancho Street not far from Goldenrod Road.
A massive search was conducted for the men, and a nearby neighborhood was blocked off by police, who checked trunks of cars leaving the area, but the duo was not located.
Police said they know who the driver is, but the passenger has not been identified.
No one was injured in the chase.
No other details were released.
