According to Palm Bay police, McCullough got into an argument with his sister in the driveway of her home.

Police said her fiance, Larry Nelson, 58, of Palm Bay, intervened and asked McCullough to leave. McCullough tried to punch Nelson, who blocked the strike and took McCullough to the ground, police said.

Nelson allowed McCullough up after he promised to stop fighting, police said. McCullough then pulled a 9mm handgun from his waistband, shot Nelson once in the foot, then again in the torso and pistol-whipped him, police said.

Nelson suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, police said.

McCullough was arrested and is being held at the Brevard County Jail without bond.
