Deputies were called to a local internet cafe by angry patrons who say the place is operating illegally.

CLERMONT, Fla. -

Deputies were called to a local internet cafe by angry patrons who say the place is operating illegally.

The owner of Cyber Center on County Road 455, near State Road 50 in Clermont, would not tell Local 6 why they believe they are in compliance with state laws.

Deloris Glenn says the owner owes her $2,000.

She claims to have won the money last week, right before the power went out and all the computers inside went to black.

"I'm on a mission to get them shut down, get them all shut down," she said.

Assistant State Attorney Mark Simpson tells Local 6 if patrons pay money to play a game of chance, and they have the opportunity to win anything of value, it's most likely an illegal operation.

He hasn't heard of any complaints against Cyber Center until Local 6 told him about patrons like Deloris Glenn, and Keith Payne.

"This is not going to go away for me because I came in, I abided by the house rules and did what I was supposed to do, won correctly and now they don't want to give me what I've earned, and I feel cheated," said Payne.

On Friday, some patrons filled out reports with the sheriff's office, but deputies did not go inside the cafe.

In a statement, they said the reports will be reviewed by their fraud unit.
