A family is looking for a new home after their apartment was flooded from an apparent pipe break early Friday.
Firefighters responded to the Windrift Apartments around 4 a.m. after receiving a call for a ceiling collapse inside one of the units.
Jorge Urquiola, who was asleep inside his apartment, said he woke up to gallons of water pouring down on him from an outlet in the ceiling.
After calling 911, Urquiola rushed to get his family to safety and salvage his belongings as the apartment began to flood. Urquiola said there was at least a foot of standing water in his apartment
Firefighters and maintenance crews worked throughout the morning to shut off the water supply to the building.
No one was seriously injured, although Urquiola said he fell and chipped a tooth while rushing to get out of the apartment.
