Orlando police say they have evacuated Macy's at Orlando Fashion Square mall after a suspicious vehicle was parked in the parking lot.

ORLANDO, Fla. -

The evacuation appears to have been lifted at Macy's at Orlando Fashion Square mall on Tuesday after a suspicious vehicle was parked in the parking lot.

Police said they were called to a report of a suspicious man sitting in a car in the 1300 block of Asbury. As officers questioned the man, who is in his 50s, he said he was a chemical engineer and was the best there was, according to police.

Police found rental car keys on the man and found that he had parked a rental car full of unknown luggage near the Macy's at Fashion Square, prompting the evacuation.

Orlando Fire Department checked the car and luggage inside the car

Local 6 news helicopter Sky 6 flew over the scene just before 6 p.m. as cars were able to leave the parking lot.

The suspicious person has been transported to a mental health facility for evaluation, police said.

No other details were immediately available.
