Police release picture of suspected Titusville gas station robber

Police are searching for a man they say went to buy bubble gum at a Titusville gas station but wound up robbing the store.

TITUSVILLE, Fla. -

Police are searching for a man they say went to buy bubble gum at a Titusville gas station but wound up robbing the store.

According to police, the robbery occurred Tuesday afternoon at the Sunoco gas station at 1390 Garden Street in Titusville.

Surveillance cameras captured the man as he handed the clerk money. Police say he then jumped on the counter, pushed the clerk and grabbed money from the register.

Police were unable to locate the man after he fled on foot.

According to police, witnesses described the robber as a thin, dark-skinned Hispanic man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 135 pounds.
