Police in Maitland are searching for the man who pulled out a gun and robbed a 7-Eleven clerk of $50.

The man walked into the store on Lake Destiny Drive near I-4 late Monday, then pulled out a gun and demanded cash from the female clerk working inside. Police say the clerk hit the panic button, but even though officers arrived within three minutes, the man had already ran off.

Police searched nearby areas but hadn't found him as of late Monday night. They believe he grabbed about $50 before leaving the store.

Police describe the man as a heavyset black male, about 5'10" tall. The suspect had a goatee and was wearing a long sleeved green shirt and dark colored pants. Anyone who knows anything about the robbery should call Maitland Police.

The clerk was not hurt during the robbery.
