A joint effort between Marion County Sheriff's deputies and Orlando police apprehended a man that escaped from a Wisconsin prison, Saturday morning.
Marion County deputies said they got a call Saturday morning about 54-year-old Todd Allan Brecht, who was convicted of first degree murder, may be on a bus that was headed from Ocala to Orlando.
Deputies said Brecht had recently escaped from a Wisconsin prison and ended upon on a bus that was bound for Orlando.
Brecht was on a bus, but deputies said it didn't stop in Marion County.
Investigators decided to follow the bus and once it stopped, they would check for Brecht.
Deputies said it soon became apparent that the bus was scheduled to stop in Orlando, where the Orlando Police Department was notified.
The Marion County Sheriff Office, working in cooperation with the Orlando Police Department, searched for Brecht on the bus when it stopped at the Greyhound Station on John Young Parkway.
Deputies said they spotted Brecht inside the bus station where he was cuffed and turned over to Orlando police.
Brecht was booked into the Orange County Jail at 9:20 a.m. Saturday where he is being held as a fugitive from justice with a warrant from Oneida County, Wisconsin.
