CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -

A Delta IV rocket launch was scrubbed Thursday from Cape Canaveral after severe weather moved through Central Florida.

The 206-foot Delta IV rocket was set to blastoff at 8:08 p.m. from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station with a new Global Positioning System satellite.

The launch is rescheduled for Friday from Space Launch Complex-37 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The launch time is 8:03 p.m.

The forecast shows a 90 percent chance of favorable weather conditions for the launch tomorrow

The launch would be United Launch Alliances' fifth of the year and the 26th by a Delta IV rocket.

A ULA Atlas V rocket is targeting launch of a U.S. reconnaissance satellite a week from Thursday.
